The Cebuanos are very proud of their culture. They hold a distinct sense of identity among the other people from other places in the Philippines. There is a way of life unique to them that visiting Cebu is not only a feast of scenic spots but also an experience of the warm hospitality and colorful culture of the Cebuanos. I am a foreigner and had to be relocated here in Cebu. At first I had my doubts about this place. Yes I have heard about the numerous tourist spots in Cebu. The beaches and mountains are very interesting. It kept my longing for going home at bay. But my work had me live in Cebu for more than a year and I tell you that the interest on these spots could wear off very quickly. Then I started to have home sickness and only wishes to go back home. It gets very hard after I have visited all the tourist spots in Cebu. They are still fun but it could not ease the pain of longing. Then there was an appreciation that I did not expected, I have been living with the local folk not only through work but on the daily business. I am driving a car through Cebu City rent a car services and have been going to many places where I casually converse with the people. Surprisingly I see another kind of wonder in the eyes of the people.

I then became interested on their culture and way of life. They have a different perspective of life that got me thinking on my own. In other words I fell in love with their culture and because of that I have forgotten my sadness in a foreign country, I don’t even feel much like a foreigner now.
